We value your satisfaction and want you to understand the options available for your purchase. Return eligibility, time limits, and applicable fees depend on the type of item purchased, as outlined below.
All return periods are measured from the original invoice date. Please contact Boston Diamond Studio to discuss your item and the terms that apply to your purchase.
Refund method: All full and partial refunds are issued by company check.
Credit card purchases: Returns of purchases paid by credit card are subject to a 4% refund fee.
Jewelry purchased from our inventory, other than stock rings covered below, may be returned within 14 days of the original invoice date. Items must be in their original, unused condition.
Items showing signs of wear or alterations performed by anyone other than Boston Diamond Studio are not eligible for return. After 14 days, items may be considered under our buyback policy.
Rings purchased from our inventory may be returned within 7 days of the original invoice date. Rings must be in their original, unused condition.
Rings showing signs of wear or alterations performed by a jeweler other than Boston Diamond Studio are not eligible for return. After 7 days, rings may be considered under our buyback policy.
Made-to-order pieces are non-refundable. A 30% restocking fee applies under the stated policy.
Custom-made pieces are non-refundable. A minimum restocking fee of 50% applies under the stated policy. Please also review our buyback policy below.
Large diamonds and gemstones purchased from our inventory are eligible for a full refund within 14 days of the original invoice date, provided they are in their original condition and accompanied by the original grading report. The credit card refund fee described above applies where relevant.

Large diamonds and gemstones sourced and invoiced specifically at a customer’s request may be returned within 14 days of the original invoice date, provided they are in their original condition and accompanied by the original grading report.

Used, altered, worn, or non-refundable rings and jewelry may be considered for repurchase based on their value as recycled materials.
Eligible large diamonds may be considered for buyback at 30%–90% of the original sale price, depending on market demand. Diamonds must be in their original condition and accompanied by the original grading report.
This diamond buyback range applies only to GIA- or AGS-graded diamonds. It does not apply to the engagement ring setting or other jewelry, which will be assessed separately.
Buyback offers are subject to evaluation. Boston Diamond Studio reserves the right to decline the repurchase of any item.
Customers who originally purchased a natural diamond from Boston Diamond Studio are welcome to explore trading it toward another natural diamond.
The trade-in value is assessed at the time of the proposed upgrade, taking into account our current inventory and prevailing market conditions. All diamonds submitted for trade are subject to approval.
Lab-grown diamonds are not eligible for the Diamond Upgrade Program.
